The conference represents the central activity of the Germany–Costa Rica–Panama Business Delegation on Railway Technology, organized by DHK Costa Rica as part of the Market Development Programme for German SMEs, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). The four-day programme brings together German companies, Costa Rican and Panamanian institutions, and representatives from the railway sector to promote business cooperation and strengthen commercial partnerships.

The programme combines presentations by DHK Costa Rica and invited organizations with opportunities for dialogue on the railway markets in Costa Rica and Panama, current developments, and potential areas of cooperation. Interactive question-and-answer sessions enable participants to exchange views directly with the speakers and gain further insights into both markets.

A central element of the conference is the structured B2B meeting programme, where participating German companies hold a series of pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with companies and institutions from Costa Rica and Panama. These meetings provide an opportunity to present products, technologies, and services, discuss potential cooperation projects, and establish long-term business relationships in both countries.

The conference forms part of a broader delegation programme that supports the internationalization of German SMEs by facilitating direct dialogue with relevant stakeholders and creating opportunities for long-term cooperation in the development of sustainable railway infrastructure in Central America.
